Armed with a bullet move during the Under Tack show, a filly by Midnight Storm brought a winning bid of $290,000 during Wednesday’s opening session of the OBS June Sale.
The price was one of the top five of the session.
The bay filly, who had turned in a :09 4/5 seconds furlong prior to the sale, was cataloged as hip No. 107 and consigned by Scanlon Training and Sales, agent. The winning bidder was HR Racing.
Bred in Kentucky by Venneri Racing, the filly is out of Ava G and a half-sister to the stakes winner Miss My Rose.
Midnight Storm has a total of 26 2-year-olds sold at auction this year for an average of $120,346, among the top 10 for First-Crop sires and nearly ten times his bred-on stud fee. He was represented by his first winner on June 5 when the 2-year-old filly Parfait won a maiden special weight race on debut.
