Tyche Await You made up a half-dozen length deficit to break her maiden in a 5 1/2-furlong maiden special weight race Sept. 2 at Emerald Downs (WATCH RACE).

The 2-year-old Midnight Storm filly, owned by Peerenboom Racing Stables LLC, was even further back in the early stages of Thursday’s contest, then steadily cut into the margin before uncorking a big move at the top of the stretch to finish a half-length in front of Akasi on the wire.

Tyche Awaits You was bred in Kentucky by Joe Parker and is the second foal out of the stakes-placed Harlan’s Holiday mare Dreamingofcarmella. 

Midnight Storm, whose first crop are 2-year-olds of this year, now has winners on both turf and the main track, at distances from 4 1/2-furlongs to one mile.
