Not This Time filly a game winner of her stakes debut

It’sfiftyshadetime rode the rail to victory in the $75,000 Owner Appreciation Distaff S. March 4 at Delta Downs (WATCH RACE). The 4-year-old Not This Time filly was making her stakes debut, winning by a neck over a late-charging Bow Bow Girl.

It’sfiftyshadetime kicked off a terrific weekend for Not This Time; in Saturday’s Fountain of Youth S. (G2) the Taylor Made stallion had one-two finishers Simplification and In Due Time. Not This Time currently leads the 2022 Third-Crop Sires list by a wide margin, with $1,787,020 in progeny earnings.

Breaking from post 4 in the 7 ½-furlong race, It’sfiftyshadetime quickly made her way to the rail, settling about a half-dozen lengths off a lively early pace.  She maintained her position until entering the final bend, when she went around a fading Shellby, then moved back to the rail and cut the corner to take the lead at the top of the stretch. Bow Bow Girl’s run came up a neck short on the wire.

The winner is owned by Thomas Holyfield and was bred by Bill & Phyllis Adair and Connie Browm.
