Top-10 Third-Crop sire Mshawish lone filly offered in the OBS June 2yo Sale attracted plenty of attention from buyers, ultimately going for $230,000 to G. Chris Coleman.
The bay filly, consigned by Blas Perez Stables, agent, and cataloged as hip No. 519, is out of the War Chant mare Twinkling. She is the dam of two foals to race: Moonlight Strike, a stakes winner and also placed in the Tampa Bay Derby (G2), and Skippylongstocking, placed in the Wood Memorial (G2) and entered in this Saturday’s Belmont S. (G1).
Hip No. 519 was bred in Kentucky by Brushy Hill and was the fifth highest-priced lot during Wednesday’s session.
Mshawish, last year’s leading Second-Crop sire by graded stakes winners, got his most recent graded winner on June 4 when Grano de Oro was a Group 3 winner in Peru.
