My Meadowview LLC logged a winning bid of $500,000 for a colt from the first crop of Taylor Made stallion Old Fashioned at the March 25 Fasig-Tipton Florida sale of 2-year-olds.

The winning price was one of the top dozen of the sale, which annually attracts savvy buyers from around the globe.

Hip No. 73 was consigned by Crupi’s New Castle Farm. The chestnut colt is out of the Coronado’s Quest mare Teruko, also the dam of the multiple stakes winner Safe Trip.

Old Fashioned’s first crop foals have been extremely well-received at auction. The 7-year-old stallion, who stands for $8,000 this year, had a sales topper at the Barretts January sale, then had a pair of fillies go for $300,000 and $160,000 at the OBS Selected Two-Year-Olds in Training Sale earlier this month.
