Mshawish, who is set to have his first Kentucky Derby (G1) starter a week from Saturday, made a mark Wednesday at the OBS Spring Sale of 2-year-olds when hip No. 447 hammered for $210,000.
Consigned by Ocala Stud, agent, the chestnut colt went to GMP Stables LLC/Anthony Melfi following a Under Tack Show quarter-mile of :20 4/5 seconds.
From his sire’s second crop, the colt is out of Agasaya, an unraced daughter of Animal Kingdom who is a half-sister to multiple Grade 2 winner Great Hot (BRZ). This is also the family of Grade 1 winners Hennessy and Pearl City.
Mshawish stands this year at Taylor Made for $7,500 S&N. His second crop is led by Sainthood, who was most recently a close second in the Jeff Ruby S. (G3) and is slated to make his next start in the May 1st Run for the Roses.
