20 stakes horses already this year for Unbridled’s Song

Unbridled’s Song sired his 20th stakes horse of the year on July 10, when Paseo Alegro ran third in the $50,000 KY Alta H. at Northlands Park, Canada.

The 3-year-old chestnut out of the Deputy Minister mare Arabis was making his 2010 debut in the one-mile event for owners Kelvin Godin and Craig Roberston, and marks the fourth major stakes horse of the past four days for Unbridled’s Song.

Earlier on July 10, Graded stakes winner Warbling earned her first Grade 1 black-type with a runner-up effort in the $350,000 Princess Rooney H. (G1) at Calder. Warbling sailed toward the finish of the six-furlong feature with a clear lead, but was passed in the shadow of the wire by a veteran Calder stakes winner. Undefeated in 2009, Warbling has won or placed in four 2010 Graded stakes, for a career record of 7-3-2-1 and $287,293 for owner Joseph W. Sutton.

Unbridled’s Song also sired two stakes winners on July 7th, and ranks third among all U.S. sires by worldwide earnings in 2010, with well over $5,200,000 this season.
